Attack on Titan Episode 1 Synopsis
Atop the outermost wall of mankind, Wall Maria, the giant hands of the Titans loom menacingly above the audience below in awe. The narrator describes how humanity received harsh memories that day, how they lived in fear of giants and felt ashamed in a cage called the Wall. was traveling through the forest when it encountered Titan. Soldiers are going to attack it to establish mankind's first base outside their walls. As they approach, they split into groups of five, some as decoys and some as attacks, using their omnidirectional maneuvering devices to launch attacks.
Child Eren Yeager wakes up crying from a dream within a safe wall. Mikasa Ackerman asks why she is crying, but Eren cannot remember the content of her dream. Back in the Shiganshina district, Eren and Mikasa encounter a group of soldiers guarding the gate, including family friend Hannes, laughing and drinking while they work. and reassured that the wall is 50 meters taller than any known titan, and that there have been no incidents in the last 100 years. , Eren and Mikasa continue their journey after Eren compares her situation to that of a caged animal. Eren expresses a desire to join the Scout Regiment in the future. Just as Mikasa begins to dissuade him from this suicidal goal, a bell begins to ring, signaling that the Scout Regiment has returned from its mission.
At the Scout Regiment's parade through the city, Eren and other onlookers comment on how few people have returned. One of them sees a smiling Eren and sadly turns her back.Shortly after, her mother begins searching among the survivors for her son Moses, but only in his arms. She noticed that she was recovering. She tries to justify her victim and asks if his death has contributed in the slightest to humanity. Unfortunately, the commander says their expedition achieved nothing.
When bystanders begin to voice their opinions on the death and the waste of taxpayer money, Eren hits one of his complaining citizens with a stick of wood in retaliation. Mikasa hurriedly pulled him away from the crowd, threw him against the wall, and scattered the firewood she had bundled on his back on the floor.
At Jaegers's house, Eren and Mikasa are Eren's father. Have dinner with a doctor. Yeager and his wife Kara. Shortly after she returns, Dr. Yeager indicates that she needs to be away for a few days to see a patient further back. Against Eren's wishes, Mikasa tells his family about his plans to join the Scout Regiment, and is angrily opposed by his mother. He told them he wanted to know what was happening and pick up where the others left off so that their sacrifices would not be in vain.
As Eren runs, she sees her friend Armin Arlert being bullied by a group of boys. Eventually Eren appears and completely retreats, seemingly distracting from Armin until he sees Mikasa behind Eren.Eren offers to help Armin stand up, but Armin stands on his own. Later that night, as the three sit by a river, Armin explains the cause of the attacker's anger. Interest in the outside world is taboo.
The conversation then returns to Eren, asking Mikasa why she told her parents of her intention to join the Boy Scout Regiment. Armin agrees with Eren, wondering if humanity is really safe in the wall. Worried.Armin ran into the open road with some other civilians and saw it first. A 60-meter-tall giant hand appears on the wall.
People watch in amazement and curiosity as the Titan lifts his legs and begins crashing through the wall. The viewer is thrown back, and the remnants of the destroyed walls roll over the city, crushing houses and crushing townspeople. The city turns into a panicked region as a horde of Titans bursts into the breach. Eren and Mikasa run through an already badly damaged residential area, hoping the house is intact.
As he turns a corner, he sees a rock falling over the house where his mother is staying. Finding her pinned under the rubble, he and Mikasa attempt to pull her out.The excitement of the nearby Titans adds even more stress to the situation. sees Mikasa flying around the city and tries to drag the debris onto Kara.She insists that he take Mikasa and run away. Still struggling with the debris, Eren protests and continues his efforts. His mother told him that his leg was crushed by the debris and that he could not walk even though he managed to free himself.
Eren ignores her hints and shouts to carry her. Tearfully, Carla asks why he doesn't listen to her. The discussion is cut short as the Titans approach their position. After further pleas from his mother and the Titans still approaching, Hannes arrives. Carla asks him to take her children and run away. Hannes initially refused, vowing to pay off the debt he owed his family for everything they had done for him. When he attacks a Titan looming over his family's homestead, he stops abruptly, horrified by the Titan's terrifying appearance.
He drew his blade and ran and grabbed the two children. Hannes departs while Carla thanks and Eren protests, Carla covers her mouth and as she cries she silently begs for her children to return. Eren looks over Hannes' shoulder and gasps as the giant carries away the rubble of the house and sets her eyes on Kara. Titan grabs her and Eren yells at him to stop. It breaks her back with its hands, devours her, and squirts blood from its mouth. Eren can only look back in despair as the Titan devours her mother, splattering blood on herself and the ground below.
