Naruto Shippuden Episode 1 Synopsis
The episode begins with Naruto, Sakura, and a strange man running through a dimly lit tunnel, checking each door to find Sasuke Uchiha. After seeing the light at the end of the tunnel another man is waiting for them. Naruto and Sakura exit the tunnel to find Sasuke watching them from above. Sasuke remembers Itachi's words about the Mangekyo Sharingan and tells Naruto that he didn't want to kill him to gain power like Itachi did. He wraps his arms around the fox and mocks his dream of becoming Hokage. Reflecting on how Naruto failed to even save his friends, let alone the Hokage, Sasuke draws his sword and prepares to kill Naruto. but asks Naruto to remove the seal holding the Demon Fox. Before Naruto can do so, he is interrupted by Sasuke. Sasuke realized that Naruto's incredible power source came from the Kyuubi, and was surprised that such a beast was trapped inside Naruto. Sasuke replied that he was impressed that he could see him even with his sharingan in , adding that Sasuke was the spitting image of Madara Uchiha. Sasuke manages to dispel the fox's spirit, claiming he doesn't know who Madara is. Konohamaru meets the owner of Ramen Ichiraku, Teuchi. Teuchi quickly insults "Naruto", remembering that it is Konohamaru and that Naruto is not in Konoha.
Ebisu states that they are nothing more than genin, and Tsunade adds that fresh graduates of the academy can only get D-rank missions. Konohamaru tells them they are all watching the Seventh Hokage. When Tsunade asks why he said 7th instead of 6th, Konohamaru explains that the position of the 6th Hokage is none other than Naruto. As Team Ebisu leaves, Tsunade reveals that Konohamaru may or may not be the future Seventh Hokage, but he's definitely more like Naruto. I would add that you should return soon from your training and travels.
At the same time, Naruto and Jiraiya emerge from the forest and enter through the Konoha border gate. The two ninjas stationed at the border recognize them immediately. After entering the village, Naruto climbs a pole and stands on top of a tower, announcing that Konoha hasn't changed in a while, and proudly proclaims that he has returned to Konoha. He notices Tsunade's face in the Hokageiwa and realizes it's the only difference. Konohamaru, Udon, and Moeki find Sakura and ask where Konohamaru is going. Sakura tells Tsunade that Tsunade is the main gate. When they get there, the two guards inform them that a special person has just arrived and is now in the village. Realizing that Naruto has returned, Sakura and Konohamaru run through the village to find Naruto.
Sakura soon realizes that Naruto is taller than she is and admires his growth. Konohamaru then decides to show Naruto his sexy technique and tells Naruto that he managed to get the curve right. using techniques and warning that such moves are beneath him, prompting Sakura to reflect on how Naruto has changed internally, admiring the newly matured Naruto while being young and fierce. narrowly missed by Naruto... However, Naruto then prepares to show Konohamaru as a much more advanced version of Sexy Technique. This ignites Sakura's anger, causing her to punch Naruto and jump over the concrete. Jiraiya is surprised by Sakura's temper and strength, and realizes that Tsunade has raised Sakura into a secondary version of himself.
Jiraiya, Sakura and Naruto go to Tsunade's office to report the former's arrival. She asks Naruto to show her what he's learned. Tell him that you've kept him away from his mission. Naruto wonders who it is as the door opens and Naruto gasps.
