In AD 1013, young Thorfinn worked for Askeladd in hopes of challenging him to a duel and killing him to avenge his father's death in AD 1002 when they were captured by him. We attacked while traveling in England. Askeladd's company found work in 1013 AD as a mercenary under the Danish King Sweyn during the Anglo-Danish invasion of London and Thorkell the Great, his fighting-loving uncle. object of Thorfinn, who served with Thors in Jomsvikings. When Thorkel captured Sweyn's son, Prince Canute, Askeladd's company captured the prince with the intention of selling him to either party for a profit. Askeladd changes his personal programmatic plan of action as a descendant of Artorius to protect his mother's homeland of Wales from invasion. When Askeladd succeeds in making Canute assertive, he learns that Sweyn intends to kill his son so that his eldest son Harald can succeed him and prevent a split among the Danes. Askeladd was eventually forced to sacrifice himself by killing Sweyn in front of an audience when the King announced his plans to invade Wales, feigning madness when Canute killed him, so that the Prince could take control of Dan-led England. Circuit occupied without questioning. But Thorfinn targets Canute in an attempt to assassinate the prince and is sympathetically condemned by Canute to a life of slavery.

A year after Askeladd's death, Thorfinn worked on a farm owned by Ketil, a wealthy farmer who treated his slaves well. He later befriends another slave named Einar. With the help of Einar along with Snake, the farm's chief of security, and Ketil's father, Sverker, Thorfinn learns to let go of his dark past and is encouraged by the dreams of his father, Thors and Ketil. Askeladd to pursue a peaceful life. and stay away from the “violent” lifestyle. Canute became king of both England and Denmark after poisoning his brother Harald. Canute began his campaign with Ketil's farm, prompting Ketil's sons, Thorgil and Olmar, to justify the capture with Ketil's men easily defeated by Canute's Jomsvikings. Thorfinn confronts Canute to convince him to spare the farmers. Canute renounces his claim to the ranch after seeing the pacifist Thorfinn has become. With Thorfinn and Einar now freed, they bid farewell to Sverker and Snake before returning to Iceland with Leif, an old friend of Thorfinn's father.

Reuniting with his mother and sister, Thorfinn explains his intention to settle in Vinland and build a peaceful new life. To secure funds for a trip to Vinland, Thorfinn, Leif, Einar and Leif's adopted son, Thorfinn "Bug-Eyes", planned to travel to Greece and sell narwhal horns there. Thorfinn's crew was later joined by others, and after attempting to fight them, they were captured by the Jomsvikings and found themselves serving under Thorkell. Thorfinn continued his journey with his crew. Thorfinn leads a group of assassins around an archipelago while the rest escape to Odense. Two of their agents take Thorfinn and Hild to Captain Vagn, the leader of a Jomsviking rebel camp seeking to usurp power from Floki before it falls into the hands of Floki's grandson, Baldr. The surviving men of Vagn's camp swear allegiance to Thorkell, who promises revenge on Floki for using Garm as an assassin. A series of battles broke out between Thorkell and Floki's forces in Jomsburg. Thorkell's army defeats Floki and captures him and Baldr, who was previously revealed to be Thorfinn's cousin.

Thorfinn was temporarily made leader of the Jomsvikings and, with Thorkell's help, carried out Canute's orders to disband the Jomsvikings and spare Floki and Baldr from execution. Floki and Baldr are exiled. Gudrid, admitting his feelings for Thorfinn, tells Thorkell of a duel that Thorfinn had promised him and that they were allowed to leave and continue their journey in Greece. Sigurd returns home without Gudrid, but realizes that he has never had romantic feelings for her and releases her.

Two years later, Thorfinn's crew returned to Iceland with a fortune from the sale of narwhal horns. Thorfinn and Gudrid married and raised Karli as their son. With the resources Halfdan had promised, Thorfinn began to assemble a group to occupy Vinland. Thorfinn struggles to achieve peace by creating a gun-free country, but his ideals often go against his subordinates. Canute himself appears in the lands but Thorfinn resists any attack on innocent people. Upon arrival in Vinland, the crew began setting up farms to live with natives who feared him.
